Markus Sterky works as content strategist and is a member of the SVT Commissioning Board since 200. He is responsible for managing and developing SVT:s commissioning process as well as for SVT:s format acquisitions along with numerous strategic projects. He has worked with international format acquisition and development for more than 15 years, and has created Swedish successful shows such as Sommartorpet and Gokväll and has brought formats such as Eternal Glory and Over My Dead Body to the Swedish screens. He has headed the development teams at Meter Film & Television and Mastiff Media in the past. Markus is the Head of the EBU Format Group and started the EBU's annual Eurovision Creative Forum in Berlin. When he doesn't work or watches TV, he is usually listening to history and philosophy podcasts on his Ipad while playing Word Feud or Angry Birds.About SVTSVT is the largest and most popular broadcaster in Sweden. Three main broadcast channels (SVT1, SVT2 and children’s channel SVTB) and two niche channels (time shift service SVT24 and 50% of the knowledge channel Kunskapskanalen) provide the Swedish audience with more than 22 000 hours of programming every year. In addition to this SVT also set the standard for Swedish online viewing through its service SVT Play where around 3000 hours of programming is available at any given time. SVT is license fee funded and does not run advertisning.
SVT Content Strategy: SVT is the biggest broadcaster in Sweden and runs three main channels. The broad family oriented SVT1, the more factual SVT2 and the children's channel SVTB. We also make original commissions for our web service SVT Play. SVT is a licens fee funded non commercial public service company. SVT produces a number of format based programmes every year. Either internally or together with the Swedish production companies. The main areas of formats are Entertainment, Factual Entertainment and sometimes Children's.
