    Kay was appointed Controller, CBeebies in May 2010 and is responsible for commissioning all content for the under 6’s across all platforms – TV, Online and Radio. Kay has over 20 years experience in Children’s programming, primarily at the BBC but also in the Independent sector.
    Under Kay’s leadership CBeebies gained its highest ever reach – 54% in the Autumn of 2011, with many weeks averaging 50% in the final quarter of that year. Recent hits include Octonauts, Rastamouse, ZingZillas and Baby Jake and with the continued success of In the Night Garden, Waybuloo, Mr Maker, Something Special and Grandpa in my Pocket, CBeebies offers a rich and diverse mixed genre portfolio. BBC Children’s has moved to Salford and as part of the relocation, Kay has overseen the refresh of the CBeebies website, including a new section for Grown Ups, offering support and insight in to the value of CBeebies content. A brand new look for the Channel’s presentation links has also been launched to better define the warm and friendly personality of the Channel
    In November 2010, CBeebies was named BAFTA Children’s Channel of the Year and secured 5 other awards to crown the Channel’s best ever night at the British Industry Awards. This was followed by a second successive win in November 2011 when CBeebies was again voted Children’s Channel of the Year by the BAFTA jury.
    In her previous role Kay was Head of CBeebies Production, Animation and Acquisitions where she led the in house production department, winning numerous commissions and securing key acquired content for CBeebies – Chuggington, Driver Dan’s Story Train, Timmy Time, and Everything’s Rosie. She has been Executive Producer on a wide range of In House and Independent shows and was responsible for building an integrated, multi platform CBeebies community on TV, on Radio and Online.
    Kay is passionate about providing quality content, which inspires our youngest viewers, by commissioning shows that reflect and are relevant to a UK audience and by securing the best International productions too.
    Kay studied Theology at St Hugh’s College, Oxford and is married with two teenage sons.
