Barbara Truyen has worked in the industry since 1990 as a producer, festival organizer, distributor, manager of a cinema, policy make and a crisis manager. She established BT Agency in 1998 to raise finance and arrange international co-productions for documentaries in development. For 8 years BT Agency ran the European office of Films Transit International as sales agents of quality documentaries. In May 2007 Barbara was appointed as Commissioning Editor creative documentaries at pub-caster VPRO in the Netherlands. She is a member of the editorial group of WHY POVERTY. She also gives workshops about international co-production, pitching and marketing.About VPRO VPRO is one of the public broadcasters in the Netherlands. Enthusiasm, curiosity, intelligent programming and quality are its main objectives. The VPRO aims to surprise, inspire, enrage and inform, as well as touch people, make them think, laugh and put things into perspective.
