Alison Baker has a background in sales, but since 2010 has been working in acquisitions for ABC Television Australia, and is now Senior Acquisitions Manager for Non-Fiction.Prior to working with ABC Alison worked as a consultant for Verve Entertainment International and the UK factual production company, Simply Media.Alison was Head of European Sales for Southern Star from 2000 - 2009, based in the UK office. In 2004 Alison relocated to the Head Office in Sydney as Director of Sales where she was responsible for television sales across all drama, factual and children's programming into North America, Australian pay television, New Zealand, and Ireland. Alison was also responsible for the overall management of the London, Sydney and Paris based sales team.Prior to joining Southern Star, Alison held senior management positions with several leading international television distribution companies. After taking her degree in German and Business Administration at Aston University in 1985, Alison started her career at Granada Television International. She moved on to become Head of Sales, Pavilion International, and Director of Sales, Polygram Television International.
