Ashley MACKENZIE BASE79 | Founder & CEO
Ashley MacKenzie is Founder & CEO of Base79, the UK’s leading digital rights management company. Over the last three years, Ashley has led the company to compound revenue growth of 805%, placing Bas79 as the second fastest growing digital media company in the prestigious 2011 Media Momentum List. This accolade followed the company being named as one of four cool vendors in Media by Gartner in May 2011. Ashley began his career in advertising at Carat (UK) Ltd. Which he left to be a founding Director of Entertainment Marketing Ltd and in 1998, he joined an MBI team as Sales Controller for Talk Radio, before becoming General Manager for talkSPORT.co.uk. The company grew into The Wireless Group Plc and Ashley took responsibility as Group Managing Director for Independent Local Radio group, purchasing loss-making radio stations and turning them into a profitable national network, employing 400 people. In 2002, Ashley gained commercial responsibility for the group as Managing Director of Impact, The Wireless Group’s wholly-owned national sales house. He was a member of the management team that successfully sold the company to UTV Plc for £98.7mn. Prior to founding Base79 in 2007, Ashley led the commercial operations of Music Choice, a provider of interactive music channels that reached over 100 million people worldwide, as Managing Director (Sales). Ashley relocated to lead the Company from Base79’s New York offices. He lives with his family in Old Greenwich, Connecticut.
Charlie MUIRHEAD RIGHTSTER | CEO & Founder
Charlie is the CEO and Founder of Rightster. At 19, Charlie organised the buyout of the Music Bank from Hilton Sounds Plc. Charlie then started Orchestream which centralised automated management of QoS, security and routing on IP networks. By 24 Charlie raised over £50m in VC funding, and floated on the LSE & NASDAQ with a market cap peaking at £1.5bn. Other ventures include: angel investment network iGabriel.net (now Pi-Capital), Angelic Record with Toby Smith (The Hoosiers), Nexagent which pioneered solution delivery and process automation software for outsourced IT services, and t5m studios which produced and distributed online TV shows.

Jeff HENRY FILMFLEX MOVIES | CEO
Henry joined FilmFlex last year and has led its significant growth. He was previously Chief Executive, ITV Consumer. During his time at the UK’s largest commercial broadcaster, Henry formed eight different commercial areas and saw turnover double in three years. Prior to ITV, Henry was Chief Executive, The Hallmark Channel, Europe, Middle East and Africa where he successfully created, grew and subsequently led the sale of the business. Throughout his career Henry has also occupied senior positions at Granada Sky Broadcasting, London News Network, NYNEX CableComms, Scottish Television Enterprises and the BBC.

An award-winning business journalist both on camera and in print, Kate is a writer and columnist and tweets at katecomments. An American, Kate has lived and worked in London since 1990, as International Editor for Cable World magazine; as Media Editor for Dow Jones owned European Business News (EBN), where she created and co-presented the award-winning, Media Report. Kate then was on-screen TMT correspondent at CNBC Europe. She began her journalism career at CNN in Washington, DC and has a master's degree in international economics and politics from SAIS, part of Johns Hopkins, and an undergraduate degree from Smith College, USA.
