Sean FINNEGAN THE C4 GROUP | Founder & CEO
A digital pioneer and one of the advertising industry’s first interactive media strategists, Sean brings a veteran’s perspective to new opportunities in communications, changed by personal media, mobility and digitized social interaction. A trusted leader for global advertising accounts, Sean has successfully navigated major media evolutions and created sustainable growth for clients, agencies and publishers. This experience arms Sean with a seasoned point-of-view as the advertising industry re-engineers to address the challenges faced by today’s marketers, hoping to make sense of the seismic paradigm-shift from national media to a universe of Digital channels. As a prominent member of digital advertising industry groups such as the AAF, Sean is a leader that values industry connectivity to build well-rounded and growth-oriented organizations. Leveraging a proven ability to sense and capture opportunity, Sean is assertively forging strategic inroads with the industry’s most influential communications companies as the merging of advertising, entertainment and consumer media bear meaningful opportunities for advertisers in the Digital space. This is demonstrated by his recent founding of The C4 Group, where Sean and his Oscar Award winning partner, Dana Maksimovich are strategically guiding Media Companies with the art of better story-telling and deeper awareness in the Digital space. Sean also maintains connectivity with the start-up and ventures community through his Built In Chicago membership as well as partnership with DMR Partners. Sean has carved a unique path for brands and marketers in consumer-driven media by maintaining a pure, people-focused approach to advertising. Sean has held digital leadership roles at major agency and media owner organizations. Most recently CEO of IPG's Geomentum, he drove the company's hyper-local platform by engineering a full-service agency model to enable top retail brand advertisers to operate from a national to neighborhood level approach. Prior to IPG, Sean served as President, Chief Digital Officer at Starcom MediaVest Group where he drove the network’s digital strategy, developing digital communications products, proprietary tools and technology applications. Sean also directed a worldwide video advertising network as Chief Marketing Officer of Vibrant Media. As a leader in Omnicom Media Group, Sean was Chief Executive Officer of OMG Digital where he led its global management team and developed functional services in digital investment, search, mobile, gaming, futures, analytics and ad operations. For his outstanding contributions to the industry, Sean has been named an AAF Advertising Hall of Achievement inductee, an Advertising Age Media Maven, a Media All Star for Mediaweek Magazine, a MediaPost All Star, one of min magazine´s 21 Most Intriguing People, and Internationalist Magazine Agency Innovator and OnMedia’s Madison Avenue “IT” List. Sean is also a proud co-founder and board member of the Tom Deierlein Foundation, an organization dedicated to helping needy families and children both nationally and internationally with their most basic living needs including medical care.
Doug Scott is the President of OgilvyEntertainment, where he has, since June 2006, been developing and producing brand funded entertainment for clients, including Horizons on the BBC for DuPont, Digital Cribs for Cisco, The Invested Life for TD Ameritrade, and an animated series for Capri Sun called The Disadventures of the Direspectoids. Before Ogilvy, Doug was co-founder of MATTER, where he developed and produced high visibility integrated marketing programs including Diddy Runs the City for Sean Combs, the Lohas Conference for Ford Motor Company and Blender Sessions concert series. Prior to MATTER, Doug was Executive Vice President, Marketing and Branded Entertainment Creative Director at Hypnotic where he developed the Chrysler Million Dollar Film Festival for Daimler Chrysler as well as programs for Reebok, Nintendo and Toyota. Early in his career, Doug was involved in launching the Hollywood Stock Exchange, a simulated stock market where you could trade movies, stars and music properties; ArtView, a global network of galleries, auction houses and museums and the Red Herring magazine. Doug is the Honorary U.S. Chairman of the Connected TV Marketing Association (CTVMA), International Director of the Branded Content Marketing Association and a member of the Producers Guild of America (PGA) and International Academy of Television Arts & Sciences. He is an advisor to Desi Hits, Treehugger, The Disrupt Group and Synner; an active speaker at industry conferences such as MIPTV, The Festival of Media and NATPE, and a guest lecturer at several business schools, including NYU and UCLA. He holds a B.S. in Economics from University of Maryland, College Park.
Chantal RICKARDS MEC | Head of Programming/Branded Content
Chantal Rickards is Head of Programming at Branded Content at MEC across Europe, Middle East and Africa. She has worked for most of the leading UK broadcasters as a producer and director; she also spent several years in channel management and commissioning at BBC/UKTV and Carlton Television. She was a judge at BAFTA in 2006 and 2007 for both the Entertainment and Comedy categories. While at MEC she has set up branded content projects for Nintendo with Channel Five ( Britain’s Best Brain ), Morrisons with CITV ( Farm Camp ), Specsavers with Channel Four ( The TV Book Club ) , Fiat with Channel Four (Evo Music Rooms ) and Activision with My Space ( launch of DJ Hero ), among others. Most recent examples are the Bourjois Boutique series on Channel Four and Visa’s support of Sky 1’s A League of Their Own featuring brand ambassador, Usain Bolt.
